SUNRISE (CBSMiami/AP) — It's been a very busy offseason for the Florida Panthers and the team's revamped front office.

The Panthers announced on Sunday that the team has finalized the signing of forward Vincent Trocheck to a six-year, $28.5 million contract.

Trocheck had 25 goals and 28 assists for Florida last season, helping the Panthers win the Atlantic Division title.

General manager Tom Rowe says Trocheck "played an important role in our success last season and will be a prominent part of the Panthers for years to come."

The 22-year-old Trocheck has 37 goals and 46 assists in 146 NHL games. He tied for third in goals for Florida last season and was fifth in total points.

Florida has added defensemen Keith Yandle and Jason Demers, goalie James Reimer and forwards Colton Sceviour and Jonathan Marchessault in this offseason, plus locked up returnees like Trocheck and All-Star defenseman Aaron Ekblad to long-term deals.
