Palm Springs Bank Robbery Ends In Shootout

WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) - A shootout in a bank parking lot near West Palm Beach ended with the robber leaving on a stretcher along with workers and customers.

It happened just after noon at a TD Bank branch at 2685 Forest Hill Boulevard.

"I was making a deposit and a man went up to the counter and told the teller to hand over the money," a witness said.

After the man received the money from the teller he went to leave but police were waiting. They exchanged gunfire and the bank robber was hit, according to witnesses.

Palm Springs Police said the man was taken to JFK Medical Center, he's expected to make it.

Several bank employees suffered minor injuries in the robbery but none were shot.

The money stolen was recovered.
