ORLANDO (CBSMiami) -- Officials said an 18-year-old lost his balance on a hoverboard and accidentally shot his 13-year-old cousin in the back of the head.

Lavardo Fisher died Monday night, a day after the shooting in Orlando.

Fisher was playing Xbox when he was shot, the Orlando Sentinel reported. He was in critical condition when he arrived at the hospital and wasn't breathing, the Orange County Sheriff's Office determined.

The 18-year-old who fired the gun hasn't been charged and told police he didn't mean to shoot.

The gun's owner, Walter Morame, 35, was arrested Sunday on a charge of possessing a weapon as a felon.
