One Dead In Turnpike Ramp Rollover

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) - One person was killed, a second severely injured, in a rollover crash on an exit ramp of the Florida Turnpike.

The Florida Highway Patrol said just before 3:30 a.m. Jamal Rodney, 22, was behind the wheel of anSUV was exiting the southbound lanes of the tollway at Hollywood Boulevard when he lost control, hit a sign, then continued into a grassy area where he hit a drainage structure and the vehicle rolled over.

Rodney died on the scene. His passenger, whose name has not been released, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition.
