Video: 'Okinawa' Sunk As Artificial Reef Off Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) -- The newest addition to 'Shipwreck Park' was sunk in the waters off Pompano Beach Saturday.

The boat, called the 'Okinawa,' now rests about a mile off shore and 70 feet below the surface, as part of an artificial reef.

It has a "dive bar" theme complete with a life-size bar, a 12-foot, 400 lb. mermaid and other whimsical public art.

The tug boat was built for the U.S. government back in 1953.
