1 woman dead, another hospitalized after double stabbing in North Lauderdale, BSO says

One woman is dead and another was hospitalized after being stabbed by an unknown assailant in Broward County early Saturday morning, police said.

Around 1:50 a.m., the Broward County Sheriff's Office was called to a stabbing reported near 1800 Runners Way in North Lauderdale, prompting deputies and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue to respond. Upon arrival, deputies found two women suffering from stab wounds. BSO said the suspect fled the scene before first responders arrived.

Paramedics took the two women to the hospital, where one of them died. The other woman is still being treated and said to be in critical condition.

BSO's Homicide and Crime Scene Units are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing. If anyone has information regarding the incident, they are asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
