TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) —A grand jury cleared five officers involved  in the shooting death of the Florida State University gunman.

Myron May was shot and killed by police in the early morning hours of Nov. 20th. Before the 31-year-old was killed, May shot at students and one library employee.

Three bullets struck 21-year-old student Farhan "Ronny" Ahmed, including a shot that left him paralyzed from the waist down.

A Leon County grand jury on Tuesday heard from witnesses and went over physical evidence collected at Strozier Library.

In a brief four-page report, jurors called the actions of police "heroic," and they praised the "prompt response" of a dispatcher. The report states there could have been more casualties if police had not acted so quickly.
