MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- On the same day a Miami-Dade Police officer bonded out of jail over an alleged road rage incident, an arrest warrant gives a deeper look into the case.

Police said he shot at  Illa's trunk, but she was not injured.

Investigators were able to search the officer's car and found ammunition but no gun.

Hours after the incident, according to his arrest warrant, Lang broke into a tow yard and stole the gun from his SUV.

The warrant said an examination of cell phone records pinpoints that Lang used his phone near the tow yard during the break-in.

There is also surveillance video and DNA evidence, according to the warrant.

The gun police believe to be stolen has yet to be found.

Lang is charged with aggravated assault, illegal discharge of a firearm and tampering with evidence.
