Officer Injured In Morning Crash On I-95

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) -- An officer is in the hospital following a crash in Hollywood Wednesday morning.

The officer was driving on the southbound lanes of I-95 just South of Sheridan Street just before 7 a.m. when she crashed into the wall, Hollywood Police said. Only her vehicle was reportedly involved in the accident.

Rescue crews rushed the officer to Memorial Regional Hospital with minor injuries. At last check, she was in stable condition.

Police said the vehicle is a total loss. Investigators are trying to find out what caused the crash.

The southbound express lanes between Stirling Road and Sheridan Street were temporarily closed due to the crash.
