FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- An arrest has been made following a police-involved shooting in Ft. Lauderdale.

It began Tuesday night near 615 N.W. 11th Avenue.

According to Ft. Lauderdale Police, the officer noticed Danny Phillip Walker, 21, trespassing at the property but when he attempted to speak to him, Walker became uncooperative and took off.

That's when Walker jumped into a silver Ford Mustang parked on the property, and while "still in reverse, the suspect steered the rear of the vehicle in the direction of the officer multiple times," a preliminary investigation report said.

The officer was allegedly hit with the trunk of the car, at which point he drew his weapon and fired.

The suspect was not hit and continued to lead police on a brief chase before crashing into another vehicle at N.W. 31st Avenue and 6th Street.

He was captured shortly after.

Walker is facing numerous charges, including trespassing, reckless driving and aggravated battery on a police officer.
