Man Critically Injured In NW Dade Shooting

MIAMI (CBS4) - A man was taken to the hospital after being repeatedly shot in the back a number of times in front of a northwest Miami-Dade home.

It happened at 2026 Northwest 71st Street, not far from Liberty City Elementary.

The critically injured man was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center.

CBS4's Ty Russell said the front door of the home and wall were splattered with blood. Police also towed a car away from in front of the home.

Miami-Dade police had several units in the neighborhood and chopper in the air searching for the shooter.

Police have not released the name of the man taken to the hospital or said if anyone was in custody.
