DAVIE (CBSMiami) - Students at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Davie say they received a disturbing and startling warning by e-mail and phone calls on Tuesday morning that two of their fellow students had been sexually assaulted after meeting two men off campus at a bar.

"Two female NSU students reported they were sexually assaulted by two males late Monday night, early Tuesday morning, between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.," said a message left on one NSU student's phone.

NSU junior Nicole Cocuy told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that she received an e-mail from the school on Tuesday morning informing her of the alleged assaults.

The e-mail alert at 9:46 a.m. issued a warning, saying the victims believed their drinks had possibly been drugged with an unknown substance.

The warning said the victims claimed they were taken to an off-campus apartment where both were sexually assaulted. The victims also said they were driven by the two suspects to the NSU main campus and were sexually assaulted again in their residence halls.

The warning had only a general description of the suspects and said they were driving a black Nissan 350Z.

Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle said that his department was investigating the alleged assaults.

Cocuy told D'Oench, "I feel nervous and scared. This could happen to anyone. I live on campus and this makes me feel concerned for my safety. I am worried about my safety and public safety for females on campus."

Cocuy said she also works for the school newspaper which was also investigating the case.

Another student who did not want to give her name said, "It's scary. I feel people should watch out."

NSU student Queen Thatch said, "I am being more cautious. I walk to school every day and now I am more aware of my surroundings. I am a little worried, but I am not frightened. I feel the school is safe."

Capt. Engle said police did not have a good description to release of the suspects.

"At this time I do not believe they are a threat to any other students there," he said. "But we want people to be aware of their surroundings. When you meet people, do not take them on face value. Get to know them before you go places with them."

Anyone who can help police with this case should call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954)
493-TIPS (8477).
