No Criminal Charges For Officer Arrested For Alleged Assault

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Broward County prosecutors have decided not to file criminal charges against a Sunrise Police Officer arrested for aggravated assault.

Gravelle is accused of two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one county of domestic violence battery.

According to court documents, prosecutors determined there was little likelihood of convicting  Gravelle on the charges.

Prosecutors said Gravelle's wife was delayed in reporting the allegations and it was unclear the date of the offense. She blamed the alleged violence on Gravelle's drug and alcohol addictions.

Sunrise Police told CBS4's Carey Codd that Gravelle is still on administrative leave and that an Internal Affairs investigation is underway.
