NFL Bringing Thursday Night Games To CBS

NEW YORK (CBSMiami) - The NFL will be making more appearances on CBS4 this season. The league and CBS announced a new partnership Wednesday to produce and televise Thursday Night Football this season.

Under the new agreement, CBS will air eight early season games that will also be simulcast on the NFL Network. The NFL Network will also televise eight late-season games in the run-up to the playoffs.

The games will include 14 on Thursday night and two late-season games on Saturday.

According to the NFL, all 16 games will be produced by CBS and will feature Jim Nantz and Phil Simms in the broadcast booth on all Thursday night games.

In addition, the NFL Network hosts and analysts will be in the pregame, halftime, and postgame shows along with the CBS Sports announcers.

The new agreement will be for the 2014 season with an additional year option for the NFL.
