HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) -- Hollywood Police released surveillance video Tuesday of the deadly crash early Monday morning when a car driven by David Paul-Lamour slammed into a wall at a Publix grocery store at Young Circle.

Paul-Lamour, 24, died and his passenger, Roxana Vila, 20, suffered serious injuries.

Police say the video shows a car speeding down Hollywood Boulevard around 3 a.m. before bursting through the wall of the business.

Carolyn Cadrin owns Pikasso Skin Care across the street from the crash scene. She lives above the business and heard the crash.

"It was almost like the thunder fell on the house," Cadrin said.

Cadrin says people speed down Hollywood Boulevard often and fail to negotiate the sharp curve at Young Circle.

"It's happened so many times," she said. "I've been here 16 years in business and all the time there's always a car going through."

Police say Paul-Lamour's car hit a curb and knocked down some bright orange poles. Residents say workers just put these poles in to try to prevent an accident like this one.

"They've been there for like a week," said Bill Garland.

Police say the couple in the car was coming from a function on the beach.

Traffic Homicide detectives continue to piece together evidence from the crash to see if drugs, alcohol or racing were factors in the crash.
