New Traffic Pattern For Westbound 836 Drivers To 826

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The State Road 836/826 interchange is in for another big change.  This weekend, there's a new traffic pattern which is expected to begin Sunday, February 16th.

The new traffic pattern affects westbound SR 836 drivers who are continuing west after NW 57th Avenue or accessing the ramps for SR 826 north or south.

These are the major changes:

  • Drivers on westbound SR 836 continuing west, exiting at NW 72 Avenue or West Flagler Street will need to stay on the right three lanes after passing NW 57 Avenue.
  • Drivers on westbound SR 836 wanting to go to SR 826 north or south beyond West Flagler Street will need to exit using the left two lanes after passing NW 57 Avenue.
  • Drivers on NW 72 Avenue wanting to go west on SR 836 or SR 826 north or south will need to access the entrance ramps by going west on NW 11 Street. (Will open on Saturday, February 15)
  • Westbound drivers on SR 836 exiting at NW 12 Street/NW 87 Avenue will be guided to a new ramp that lines up with NW 84 Avenue at NW 12 Street. (Will open on Saturday, February 15)

This shift will allow the contractor to construct the new mainline westbound SR 836 as well as continue the widening of the new northbound SR 826. This schedule may change due to bad weather or other unforeseen conditions.
