MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Hassan Whiteside will get a little extra time off following the NBA's All-Star Break.

The NBA has announced that Whiteside has been suspended one game for his elbow to the head of San Antonio Spurs center Boban Marjanovic during Tuesday's game at the American Airlines Arena.

The game that he will miss will be Miami's road game against the Atlanta Hawks on February 19th, the team's first game following the NBA All-Star break.

This isn't the first time that Whiteside has been suspended.

During March of last season, Whiteside was also suspended for one game for a blow to the back of the head of Boston Celtics center Kelly Olynyk.

The 26-year-old center is slated to be an unrestricted free agent following the season and the Heat will have a big decision to make.

Whiteside has plenty of talent and it shows on the court, but his attitude and behavioral issues have many wondering if Heat president Pat Riley will want to keep him around for the high price that the skilled big man will fetch from someone in the league.

For now, Whiteside will not be able to play again until Miami hosts the Washington Wizards on February 20th.
