Nation's & World's Top Landmarks Announced

NEWTON, Mass. (CBSMiami) -- Summer time means travel time and there are plenty of people planning their trips which is why the travel site, TripAdvisor, has identified the top landmarks in the U.S. and throughout the world that inspire travelers.

This year's awards honor more than 700 landmarks worldwide and are based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers across the globe.

Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for landmarks worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period.
