Nine People Injured In Drive-By Shooting At NW Miami-Dade Park

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade officials are investigating a shooting Monday afternoon that left nine people injured.

Officials said they responded to NW 17 Avenue and NW 87 Street around 5 p.m.

Four of the victims were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital, the remaining five sought medical treatment on their own.

According to neighbors, the shooting took place at a basketball court inside Arcola Park.

Witnesses say a car pulled up near the basketball court and someone squeezed off several rounds before the driver sped off.

"I didn't see the tag but they was in a rush," a witness said.

Investigators don't have a motive for the shooting.

"It's all of this commotion going on its real sad, a witness added. "That we can't all come together and come along."

Miami-Dade police believe the vehicle involved is a dark-colored newer model Nissan Maxima.

The ages of the victims range from 16 to 21-years-old.

One of the victims who was 16 was shot in the head and is listed in critical condition.
