Multiple Motorcycle Riders Injured In Violent Krome Ave. Crash

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – Rescue crews responded to the scene of a violent crash involving three motorcycles at SW 100 Street and Krome Avenue in Southwest Miami-Dade County  Thursday afternoon.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said six motorcyclists have been transported to area hospitals.

Investigators said the motorcycles were traveling southbound on Krome when they collided with an oncoming van hauling a trailer.

The driver of the van says he tried to hit his brakes to avoid the car in front of him, but he swerved to the left crashed into the motorcycle riders.

One of the bikes burst into flames.

Of the patients transported, four were transported as trauma alert patients, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Two of the patients were taken to Jackson Memorial Ryder Trauma Center and two more were taken Kendall Regional Medical Center.

Chopper4 flew over the scene where a motorcycle could be seen badly burned and at least two more motorcycles were lying on their sides.
