Morris: In Omaha, 'You've Got to Learn to Focus'

For the 24th time in school history, the Miami Hurricanes are headed to Omaha for the College World Series, facing the Florida Gators this Saturday.

"It has been a while for us since we've been out there," Morris said on the Joe Rose Show Monday morning. "I think once they get there I worry about getting caught up in all the hoopla that's going on out there. There's a lot of things happening. From the time you walk in they've got autograph sessions to practice to going to different charity-type events and doing things. You've got to learn to focus out there. You're gonna play in from of 25,00 people on national TV and it's just a different world when you get out there and you've got to talk to them about before you get there, make sure they can concentrate."

Who holds the best bat he's seen since becoming a head coach in 1982?

"The best hitter I've ever seen is Pat Burrell," Morris said. "He hit .493 at a freshman and I've never seen anybody hit the ball harder than he did in college."

"Pat the Bat" went on to smack 292 home runs in his MLB career.
