NORTH MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Florida Wildlife officials say they will not be doing anything about a monkey spotted in North Miami Beach.

Earlier in the day, North Miami Beach Police were searching for the monkey after reports of sightings of the simian.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials who were assisting in the search identified the monkey as a wild vervet monkey.

Through pictures sent to CBS4, we can confirm it is a small monkey. He was pictured roaming around a parking lot and climbing on cars.

The loose monkey was spotted in the area of NE 6th Avenue between 179th Street and 180th Street, according to police.

The monkey had reportedly come from the industrial area West of I-95.
