ORLANDO (CBSMiami) – An Orlando area mother is speaking out after she was told she would not be able to bring her breast pump on a flight.

Carolyn Bonaventura said she tried to board a US Airways flight at Orlando International Airport on Monday.

When Bonaventura attempted to board with her carry-on containing her breast pump, an airline attendant told her she couldn't bring it with her because there was no more room in the overhead bins.

"What would you have done had this been an oxygen tank or a cane? Those things you can clearly bring on the plane and he said those were actually considered medical devices but the pump is not," said Bonaventura.

US Airways did apologize and changed her zoning number and allowed her to board the next flight.
