MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A South Florida woman accused of illegally taking her three children on a cross-country journey has been ordered to go to rehab.

This after Carrie Weingarth tested positive for cocaine use while on probation.

On Tuesday, a judge learned of the probation violation and ordered her to attend a drug rehabilitation program.

In July, Weingarth accepted a plea deal. She pleaded no contest to a charge of interfering with the custody of her children. In exchange, she agreed to a two year probation term.

In February, 2014, Weingarth sparked a nationwide search after she took off with her kids to California without their father's permission. The search, which was large and costly, eventually ended with a tearful reunion with the dad at the airport.

Other terms of Weingarth's deal were that she attend a parenting class along with undergoing mental and drug abuse evaluations. She was also granted supervised visits with her children.

Dozens of Miami-Dade Police Officers attended her last hearing, after her lawyers accused officers of exaggerating the kids disappearance in order to earn $10,000 in overtime.

One school officer said Weingarth should never have been charged.
