Miramar School Threats Linked To Prison Security Breach

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Threats against two schools in Miramar have been linked to a security breach at a Florida prison.

Gilberto Franque, an inmate at the Dade Correctional Center in Florida City, is accused of calling in threats to Sunshine Elementary School and Miramar High School in late August and early September.

Investigators say Franque somehow had access to two cellphones in the facility.

Prison officials say they are conducting an extensive review of the matter.
