Mike Wallace (Hamstring) Misses Second Straight Practice

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – One thing that the Miami Dolphins are hoping to see this season is more big plays from wide receiver Mike Wallace.

Widely known as one of the fastest players in the league, Wallace had been known throughout his career as a deep threat that can stretch a defense.

His first year in Miami was a work in progress as he and Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill struggled to get in sync on the deep balls. The pair spent a lot of time during the offseason working on their on-field rapport in order to have more success in the upcoming season.

That work, which has carried over into training camp, has been temporarily put on hold.

Wallace sat out his second straight practice on Thursday with a sore hamstring and is expected to be held out of practice through the weekend.

The injury doesn't appear to be anything major but at this point of the young season there is no reason for Miami to take any chances with one of their most lethal weapons.

Should Wallace indeed be held off the field through the weekend then he'll miss the Dolphins' team scrimmage which takes place on Saturday at Sun Life Stadium.

Miami opens their preseason schedule next Thursday when they travel to Atlanta.  The team will reevaluate Wallace after the weekend and determine whether or not he'll suit up for their game against the Falcons.
