Migrants Come Ashore On Key Biscayne

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A group of migrants came ashore Wednesday  on Key Biscayne.

Miami Fire Rescue crews said there were a total of 13 migrants from Cuba that came ashore around 5 p.m.

Miami Fire officials said one of them, a 24-year old man tried to swim to shore but ended up distressed so they picked him up. He had to be treated for exhaustion and was taken to the hospital.

As of Wednesday evening, the other 12 were still off shore in Coast Guard custody.
