Miami Weather: Sunny Morning, Storms Fire Up In The Afternoon

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - It was a warm, muggy start to Thursday with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s across Broward and Miami-Dade.

Very hot and humid conditions persist Thursday afternoon, setting the stage for rapid thunderstorm development across Broward and Miami-Dade.

Because of the very hot temperatures in place, the storms have a higher than normal chance for producing wind damage as they move across the area.

Friday morning a few showers will be possible but scattered storms may develop once again in the afternoon due to lingering moisture and a weak cold front forecast to move in.

Saturday will not be as hot or humid due to that weak front and some drier air that will move in. Highs will be in the upper 80s on Saturday with mainly dry conditions. Sunday will be in the upper 80s for Mother's Day with a slight chance of spotty storms in the afternoon.
