Police: DNA Connects Miami Teen To Rape, Kidnapping

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Police say a teenage suspect was just 14 at the time that two women were raped.
Kamai Clerveaux turned 15 earlier this month.
He's now being held without bond after court appearances at Miami's Metro Justice Building, charged as an adult for kidnapping and raping two women at gunpoint.
Detectives arrested him January 1st after they said DNA evidence connected him to the most recent attack on December 28th, near Clerveaux's home at N.W. 10th Avenue and 145th Street.
The 24-year-old victim was getting out of her car when Clervaux allegedly approached her with a gun. According to the arrest report, Clerveaux "placed a firearm to her head and asked her if she wanted to live or die."
The report goes on to say that Clerveaux then drove her to another location where he forced her to perform oral sex on him, before raping her while she begged for her life. The ordeal ended when he took her phone and fled.
Clerveaux is accused of another attack on May 28th, as a woman got into her car.
"I should kill you, I should kidnap you," Clerveaux told the woman at gunpoint, a report said.
He then drove the victim to an abandoned home and raped her. He also left her without her driver's license and cellphone.
When questioned by police, Clerveaux denied the allegations.
He's charged with two counts of kidnapping, armed sexual battery and armed carjacking and possession of a weapon. He has been given an assistant public defender who said he wants to know more about the DNA evidence.
