Miami T-Mobile Store Hit By "Smash & Grab" Burglars

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A group of burglars smashed their way into a T-Mobile store early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 3 a.m. in the shopping center at the intersection of NW 27th Avenue and 17th Street.
Surveillance video shows one thief smashing the door, with what looked like a hammer, 25 times before reaching through the glass and unlocking the door.
Behind him, three others rushed in.
Inside, they ransacked the store, tore down displays and even ripped off part of the wall.
"I see two men running out of the store and I was afraid because I thought it was my door. That's why I called the cops," said a man who works at the barber shop right next door.
He worked security overnight and heard everything.
"I can't see their faces, but they were tall and skinny."
The thieves got away with thousands of dollars worth of iPhones.
Officers questioned the store workers and combed through surveillance footage.
Crime scene investigators dusted for fingerprints, trying to collect any evidence that would identify the hooded thieves.
The four burglars obviously were not concerned about working quietly based on the mess they left behind, with merchandise and glass strewn everywhere.
The manager says he estimates he lost about $20,000 dollars in repairs and items stolen.
A sign on the door says "closed until further notice."
