Suspicious Package At Miami Police HQ Prompts Evacuation, Detonation

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Police gave the all-clear after a suspicious package prompted an evacuation at their headquarters Tuesday morning.
About an hour after their headquarters, located at 400 NW 2nd Avenue, was evacuated bomb squad had already detonated it and found no explosives.
The suspicious package, a bag, was discovered on the walkway, near the front entrance to the police department around 10 a.m. prompting the evacuation.
Chopper4 was over the area where bomb squad crews could be seen along with a fire truck and an ambulance. Crime scene tape was put up - blocking the area in front of the station.
Miami Police later posted a video of a second suspicious item being detonated. You can hear someone saying "fire in the hole" right before the detonation.
Any 911 calls had to be redirected and handled in a backup call center in Coconut Grove.
The public has been asked to stay away from the area.
