MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Cameras rolled as a group broke into two family-owned South Florida pharmacies, leaving with almost nothing.

With a crow bar in hand, crooks were seen hard at work breaking into the Union Pharmacy on West Flagler Street.

"They broke the back door, the steal door, the iron gate. They broke into the place. I don't think there's too much missing, said Rodolfo Cepero who works at Union Pharmacy.

Surveillance video shows the group in action. After tugging on the pharmacy's steal door with burglar bars, they finally pried it open enough, knocked over boxes inside and made their way in.

With their faces covered, the only things visible were their eyes. Once inside, they used the light of their cell phones to look around. It appeared as if they were looking for something specific but they apparently never found what they wanted.

"It seems as if the alarm sounded and they got scared and just run," said Mauricio Coro who works at the pharmacy.

But they didn't run far. About 20 blocks away, also on West Flagler Street, they hit another family-owned pharmacy.

At Salu's Pharmacy just down the street, authorities said, the guys went inside and they did take something this time, about $15-worth of cold medicine.

Investigators are likely checking to see if they stole that cold medicine to cook other drugs.

For the second break-in they used the same method by breaking in through the back door.

Now, the owners are left with a mess to clean up wondering what was the point of breaking in and leaving nearly empty handed.

Investigators believe that it's the same guys who pulled off both of the break-ins.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471- TIPS.
