Miami Man Wins $1 Million In $10 Scratch-Off Game

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A Miami man is quite a bit richer after he bought a $10 scratch-off card and won  $1 million dollars.

The Florida Lottery announced Thursday Jose Perez, 62, of Miami, claimed his prize at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.

Perez opted to receive the winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment in the amount of $769,309.44.

Perez purchased his winning $10 Monopoly Millionaire Scratch-Off ticket from Publix, located at 13890 S.W. 56th Street.

There are seven top prizes of $1 million remaining. The game's overall odds of winning are one in 3.34.
