MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) -- Miami Gardens Deputy Police Chief Paul Miller will soon be leaving his position.

According to our news partners, the Miami Herald,  Miller announced he will retire in April.

Miller has been serving as interim chief after Chief Matthew Boyd retired  at the end of last year amid allegations that officers were racial profiling.

A search is currently taking place for a new chief. Miller will serve as the interim chief until the position is filled.
