Miami Dolphins Hold Moment Of Silence For Slain Journalist
MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins took on the New England Patriots Sunday and won the game.
While the action on the field was filled with excitement, the Dolphins took a short moment to remember a special fan.
The team held a moment of silence for Dolphins fan Steven Sotloff.
Sotloff was a Miami area native and was killed by Islamic militants in Iraq.
His father, Arthur Sotloff, shared a picture of his son in a Dolphins jersey shortly after news spread that his son was killed.

Sotloff went missing in August 2013 while writing about the Syrian civil war as a freelance journalist for several publications.
Sotloff attended UCF and later moved to Israel to study. He got a dual American-Israeli citizenship and secretly practiced Jewish religion in captivity.
While being held hostage, Sotloff's family had to conceal his connection to Israel and Judaism, erasing everything online that made mention of it.
Sotloff's body has not been recovered.
