Miami-Dade Cop Charged With Possession Of Child Porn

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - More trouble for a Miami-Dade police detective who was arrested last year after he reportedly performed a sex act in front of a 15-year old.
Police sergeant James Edwards III is now facing child pornography charges, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.
Last August, Edwards was accused of giving a 15-year-old boy drugs and alcohol, then touching the boy and masturbating in front of him, according to the arrest affidavit. He was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct, lewd and lascivious exhibition, violation of a protection of minors law - prohibiting of certain acts in connection with obscenity, and contributing to the delinquency or dependency of a child.
At the time of his arrest, police seized Edwards' personal computer.
An examination of it found a collection of 69 videos featuring child pornography. Edwards' attorney told the Miami Herald his client has been charged 12 counts of possession of child pornography.
Edwards, 47, was part of the Miami-Dade police force for 27 years.
