MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Dade College illuminated its national landmark, the Freedom Tower, in blue, white and red colors in solidarity with France following the deadly attacks in Paris.

The iconic Freedom Tower will be illuminated every night through Friday.

"Words can't begin to describe the sorrow the entire Miami Dade College community is feeling following the senseless and atrocious acts of terror in Paris. The attacks strike really close to home and to our hearts," said MDC's President Eduardo J. Padrón.

France is America's oldest ally and also one of Miami Dade College's oldest friends.

MDC has taught French students since its founding and MDC has benefited from exchange programs with France.

The college continues to celebrate France's culture, people and history and offered a simple message to the country, "Nous vous aimons Paris."
