Miami Beach Announces Settlement In 2011 Memorial Day Shooting

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) --  The city of Miami Beach announced a settlement in connection to a Memorial  Day weekend police involved shooting in 2011.

Raymond Herisse who police said was driving erratically died after 12 officers fired at his vehicle more than a hundred times amid a holiday weekend crowd.

Herisse's family and three other bystanders injured in the shooting filed a lawsuit.

City officials said Tuesday the terms of the settlement agreement call for the city to pay the bystanders, which in total is 4,  about $200,000.

The settlement comes a year after prosecutors previously found officers were legally justified for firing their weapons at Herisse's vehicle.

Following the shooting, Miami Beach Police changed their policy.
