Men Killed While Standing By Disabled Car On I-95

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) — Two men men died overnight in Pompano Beach after they were struck by a car on I-95.

Rakan Alnittki and Sultan Alotaibi, both 20, were standing behind their disabled BMW in the southbound lane of the highway, just north of Sample Road, when they were struck by a Mercedes driven by 32-year-old Max Louis Citrin.

Both men died at the scene.

Citrin was taken to Broward Health North where he was treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The Florida Highway Patrol said they do not believe alcohol was a factor.
