Argument between 2 men leads to shooting, stabbing in Medley

MIAMI - Medley police said an argument between two men led to a shooting and stabbing Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just before 2 p.m. at the corner of Northwest 87th Avenue and 91st Street near a concrete company. 

Medley police say they found a man in a dump truck with a gunshot wound to the face and then they discovered another man nearby in a truck yard with stab wounds to the stomach.

Fire rescue responded and he was airlifted to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. 

The man with the gunshot wound was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center. 

It is not known if they worked here.

They are now listed in stable condition.

"As to what led to the stabbing and shooting is not known. What is known is that this started as an altercation by the males. What led to the stabbing and shooting is under investigation," said officer Deglys Chavarrra with Medley police.

"If anyone happened to be in the area driving around or saw anything...please come forward."     

Medley police say there is no threat to the community. 

They say no one else was involved. This was an isolated incident.

The two men have not been identified. 

Northwest 87th Avenue between 90th and 93rd Streets had been shut down but reopened to traffic just after 5:15 pm.
