MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins added another arm to their stable of pitchers on Tuesday.

Miami has agreed to terms on a minor league contract with 32-year-old right-handed reliever Nick Masset.

Masset sat out the 2012 and 2013 seasons due to a shoulder injury and thoracic outlet syndrome.

He returned to the majors last season with the Colorado Rockies but had his struggles, finishing with a 5.80 ERA in 45 innings pitched.

Prior to his injuries, Masset was a strong setup man for the Cincinnati Reds.  In parts of four seasons with the Reds, Masset pitched 240 1/3 innings and had a solid 3.05 ERA, with 8.5 strikeouts and 3.5 walks per nine innings.

Masset is a Florida native and could end up being a solid addition to the Marlins system if he can regain some of his old form.
