MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins still have four games remaining on their 2015 schedule but the team isn't waiting until the season is over to start planning for the future.

CBS Sports reported on Thursday that the Marlins have interviewed former Astros manager and Miami third base coach Bo Porter for the manager position.

Porter has also coached for the Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Currently the Marlins manager is former GM Dan Jennings.  He will not be retained as manager following the season and it's unknown whether he'll get his old job as general manager back, though he is under contract through 2018.

The Marlins have now interviewed two people for the job, with Porter joining Manny Acta, though it's believed that the search is far from over.

Team owner Jeffrey Loria has said that he wants to hire a manager with experience after having consecutive first-timers in the role.

The Marlins conclude their series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night before traveling up to Philadelphia for the final three games of the season.
