MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — The Miami Marlins continue to add to their depth as Spring Training is just days away from beginning.

Outfielder Reed Johnson has agreed to a minor league contract with the Marlins and has been invited to big league spring training.

Johnson hit .235 in 187 at-bats last year, his 12th in the majors and first season with the Marlins. He will compete for a spot as a reserve outfielder.

The agreement was announced Tuesday, three days before Marlins pitchers and catchers report.
