CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – One of the main things that new Miami Hurricanes football coach Mark Richt has said is that the team needs an indoor practice facility.

Richt seems to understand that actions speak louder than words.

Several outlets are reporting that Richt told Hurricanes boosters at an event in Chicago last week that he was donating $1 million of his own money to help fund the indoor facility.

University of Miami Athletics Director Blake James told the Palm Beach Post that Richt's donation had yet to be finalized and he would not confirm the actual dollar amount.

Providing the football team with an indoor facility has been a main priority for the program for several years but Richt has made a point of focusing efforts on the project and asking for donations to help fund it.

According to the Post's report, the university is hoping to publicly announce plans to build the facility in the coming weeks. It's expected to cost upwards of $25 million.
