Mar-A-Lago Trespasser Yujing Zhang Sentenced To 8 Months

PALM BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) - The Chinese businesswoman convicted of trespassing at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and lying to federal agents was sentenced Monday to 8 months in prison.

Yujing Zhang faced up to 12 months in prison and prosecutors had planned on asking for an additional six months behind bars.

When Zhang was arrested last March, she was carrying four cellphones, a computer, and an external hard drive, leading to speculation she could be a spy. She was never charged with espionage, though, and text messages presented at trial suggest she is obsessed with Trump.

The president was at a golf course when Zhang arrived at Mar-a-Lago.
