Mannix: Worst Thing for Miami Heat is to 'Pay for Past Performance'

The Knicks and Lakers have been tossed out as two options for Dwyane Wade if he really is serious about potentially leaving Miami, but the majority of NBA Insiders think he isn't going anywhere.

"I don't see a team out there that's a contender that will be willing to pay him the kind of money he's looking for and also give him a better chance to win," Chris Mannix said on the Joe Rose Show. "So I think it's a lot of back and forth. I understand where Pat Riley's coming from. The worst thing a team can do is pay for past performance.

"You don't want to give these guys these golden parachutes, not when you're trying to rebuild and win. I gotta believe at some point they find a middle ground here."
