MIAMI (CBSMiami) A robbery attempt led to a deadly shooting in Allapattah.

Police have identified the alleged robber as 24-year-old Francisco Martinez Jr.

Surveillance video captured the last moments of Martinez's life as the vehicle he was driving in crashed through a fence and into someone's front yard off NW 22nd Avenue and 30th Street.

"I went to the window. I saw the car crashed and like a bunch of my neighbors were outside," said a nearby resident, who did not want to be identified.

Police said Martinez was shot when tried to rob three people near a gas station off NW 22nd Avenue and 28th Street right before 11 o'clock Saturday night.

"I heard a few pop, pop, pop. I figured it was from the stadium because we normally hear the fireworks at the Marlins stadium," said a nearby resident.

After being shot Martinez got in a vehicle and fled but he only made it a couple of blocks before crashing.

"He fight. He fight hard to stay alive," said Julian Barraza who tried performing CPR to save Martinez's life.

Martinez was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma where he was later pronounced dead.

People in the area are just thankful no one else was hurt. "Thank my lucky stars and light a candle," said the nearby resident.

Police have not released the identity of the three men in the attempted robbery. No word on whether the one who shot Martinez will face charges.
