KEY WEST (CBSMiami) - A Marathon man was arrested Sunday night after he reportedly threatened to shoot people with a spear gun.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies were call to Boot Key Harbor around 9:15 p.m. to check out reports a man threatening several people with a spear gun. When they arrived at Fisherman's Point, they could hear yelling and screaming from boats in the harbor.

The U.S. Coast Guard gave the deputies a ride out to where the screams were coming from. They found a man, woman and child on a boat who claimed that 54-year old Randy Sharp had circled them in a kayak and threatened to shoot them with a spear gun.

Sharp was found on a nearby vessel.

As deputies were handcuffing him, he attempted several times to pull away from them.

Along with the spear gun, which was found in the cabin of Sharp's boat, deputies also reportedly found a metal pipe with marijuana residue in his pocket.

Sharp was charged with three counts aggravated assault, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
