FORTL LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) --  Police are offering a $3,000 reward for  information on the person responsible for killing a man while he was house hunting near Fort Lauderdale.

Meantime, the man's wife, Josiamne Jean is beyond distraught, sobbing,  after her husband Kenol Jean was murdered right in front of her.

While they were looking at this house, a man walked in.  At first she thought he was another client, then she saw the gun.

"I went to look at the back yard. He was going to follow me but the guy was already in front him," Jean recalls. "He shot him twice."

Josiamne was stunned then realized she could have been next.  She pleaded for her life.

"He turn around and he was going to shoot me too and I dropped on the floor and I said, 'please, don't shoot me,' and he grabbed the chain from him and he ran," said Jean.

He got the chain that was around Kenol's neck, but not the cross. That fell to the ground and the gunman took off.

Surveillance video from a nearby gas station shows, what could be him, running from the murder scene. There's also a surveillance picture of the possible shooter talking to someone in a white Pontiac Grand Am.  Detectives want to talk to that driver.

Josiamne and Kenol have three daughters together age 3, 6 and 9. In all, Kenol has 11 children.  They were moving out of their apartment in Deefield Beach.

In a sad twist, they were trying to find a safer neighborhood.

"We don't live in a good neighborhood," Jean said with tears running down her face. "We said we were going to buy a house to get the kids out of the neighborhood where we've been living. There's too many drugs.

If you have information about the murder, call Broward Crimestoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
