Man Killed In Weekend Boating Accident

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - An investigation is underway into a deadly boating over the weekend in Pompano Beach.

Around 8:20 p.m. Saturday, two boats that collided in the center of the channel of the Intracoastal Waterway, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

One vessel had five people onboard, two which ended up in the water. Three people from this boat were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The second vessel had two people onboard. One of them, 51-year old William Alfred Ineson Jr, was thrown from the boat. His body was recovered Sunday.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this tragedy," said FWC Major Camille Soverel. "We will do our part to determine the cause and bring some closure."
